Golden Opportunity For Volunteers

This upcoming weekend we're heading out for another glamorous weekend of camping at Golden Ears Park! Our last camping trip was a great success and we had a blast! This weekend we aim to top that, but we can't do it without you. We're looking for about 8 more volunteers to come out and join the fun, so if you're available give us a call!

Golden Ears Provincial Park is located in Maple Ridge - only about an hour away from the city. The park boasts some beautiful trails for hiking and the legendary Alouette Lake for water sports. We can even rent canoes, kayaks and pedal boats! Bring your swim suits, the weather is supposed to be fine! We've also had a look at the wildfire status around the area and we're looking good! No campfire bans as of yet - s'mores anybody?

Silent Auction Items Wanted

Hey everyone!

The fundraiser date is drawing near and we're excited! The response has been great and it should be a wild night. Our main focus right now is getting items for the silent auction. We've had some fantastic donations from Deep Cove Kayak, Trims, BC Playthings, the Gorrell family and Bottle Jockey which means we're off to a great start!

If you or anyone you know has something they would like to contribute, please contact Sharee at 604-767-4202. We'd love anything from a service you might be able to provide, to art, music, crafts, a night at your cabin or even booze (especially booze - a toonie toss wouldn't be a toonie toss without a few bottles of delicious adult beverages!). Pass the word around!

Fundraiser aside, we've got another fun weekend of glamping coming up. Sherpas are still needed! If you'd like to join us contact Lenna at 604-817-1177.

Texas Tea Thursday Fundraiser Band Playing At Panorama Park

Hey all,

Our fundraiser band, The Steel Toe Boots are playing a free show at Panorama Park in Deep Cove this Friday at 7:30. Their show last year had the entire park on their feet so we recommend you go check them out! The price is right and the backdrop is unbeatable. Grab a friend and take 'em down there and we'll see you on the dance floor!

Speaking of the fundraiser, we have only two more weeks to go! We're still looking for contributions to our silent auction. It's a great way to get your name out there and to help those with mobility issues to get out there!

Glamping Is The New Camping

Last weekend's camping session was a HUGE success! We managed to turn roughin' it camping into glamping with the stellar menu styles of Pete and his delicious marinade secrets. Not to mention the succulent blueberry-banana-chocolate chip pancakes in the morning (thank you Lenna!). A big thank you to all the volunteers who came out and went above and beyond with groceries, firewood and awesome attitudes. In addition to top-notch sherpas we had some fantastic riders: Tessa and Pete you guys rocked our weekend! We also complemented the glamour with unbeatable views on our alpine hike and a rather chilly swim to cool ourselves down from the 30 degree weather... not that we're complaining! Our next adventure follows up in a few weeks at Golden Ears Park. We're stoked!!!

New Website Up and Running!

Hey everyone! Our new website is up and we're excited about it! You now will have to go to one place and one place only for information about us, upcoming events, our meetup schedule, this blog, our facebook, twitter and meetup links. You can also download participant / rider forms and volunteer forms and link to our email and other useful websites as well.

Please have a look at http://interfit.ca and let us know what you think... any input you can give us on how to make it more user friendly is appreciated!

Also, a big thanks to the sherpas that came out last night, it was a lovely hike by the creek and a great temperature to boot!

This Week With InterFit... It's Gonna Be A Doozy!

Well we hope everyone enjoyed their long weekend, but after all that relaxing it's time to get your rear ends moving again! Tomorrow we'll start out with a nice stroll up Lynn Creek at 6:30 and we'd love to have you join us.

What to look for this week:

1. Our new website is all done! We're just putting the final touches on it so keep an eye out for it early this week!

2. We've started planning our Summer Fundraiser! This year we've teamed up with the Village Tap House in West Vancouver at Park Royal Village. They host a legendary night called Texas Tea Thursdays there that has been a huge hit many times over! North Vancouver's own Steel Toe Boots will provide the evening's entertainment... You may have seen them at none other than the Merrit Mountain Music festival, previous Tap House Texas Teas, Rooster's Cabaret and a ton of other local shows! You can check them out at http://www.thesteeltoeboots.com/ (they have albums and itunes you can snatch up there). We've got tons planned such as toonie tosses, silent auctions and more. 3. Camping season is in full swing! We're headed to Manning Park on Friday! We're always looking for fun and accessible trails or activities, so if you know the area and would like to suggest something, give us a shout!

Kick Off The Long Weekend With A Hike!

Yesterday we met up with Liberty House again and went out to beautiful Port Moody for a sea-side stroll! The company was great and the weather was warm with a few clouds to cool us off! Despite a small blip with the ORC wheel (thank you Rory for your expertise in the tire-changing field), we had a great time and finished the day off with some delicious fish n' chips!

And now on to the long weekend: Friday is supposed to be beautiful and if you have extended your long weekend to a four-day holiday, why not kick it off with a hike in the sun?! Tomorrow we're heading to Lynn Headwaters to frollick by the river... perhaps a refreshment after as well?! Hope to see you there!

Before We Break For The Long Weekend...

The long weekend is coming up and we know many of you will be going out of town, so we added a little more fun to the week! Tonight we're going for a nice and easy stroll up Mosquito Creek and tomorrow we stroll through Port Moody at Rocky Point Park in Port Moody. We're still looking for help so come along for a lovely hike followed by fish 'n chips!!!

Getting Ready For A Busy Weekend

We're gearing up for a big weekend, but we can't do it without you! We have 3 hikes this weekend: our Funky Friday hike to Rice Lake kicks off at 1:00, then we head out for an all-day Saturday trek up to Norvan Falls starting at 10:00 and finish off the weekend with a nice and easy stroll at Mosquito Creek at 1:00. On Saturday we are looking for 8-10 more volunteers and 3-4 more on Sunday. Can anyone help?!

A Kayaking Weekend to Remember

I would like to say A Big Thank You for such a fantastic time kayaking and camping with Power to Be and InterFit. I had the most wonderful time and enjoyed it so much...good memories...and a special thanks to all the volunteers...Jeff, Elena, Maria, and Henry and Thank You Lenna and Rory for the use of the ORCK. It was great to meet Alana. Also the volunteers that canoed back and forth for us. My favorite moments where to be able to access areas which I would not normally be able to without InterFit volunteers and the ORCK.
